Why a cooking blog? What is the point? Who is going to read it? What does it matter what you make for dinner? Who cares?
Hell... I don't know. All I know is that I love to cook.
I can't stop talking to people about what I made this weekend, what did they eat, where did they get the recipe, would they change anything, did their family like it?! I need an outlet for this energy. I also need a repository for the recipes I have accumulated through experimentation, family, friends, books, online etc... I'm tired of not being able to find "oh, that thing, it was so good, where did I hear about it, how do I find it again?"
I shall have an index, and it shall live here.
I love to take pictures of what I'm cooking. I don't do it because I'm an amazing photographer and know how to perfectly arrange the plate, adjust the lighting etc. The photos I take are largely meant to illustrate a point, a key part of the recipe that I think it really helps you to see to understand. Of course there is the money-shot at the end to show you "look what I did!" I hope one day (after some photography classes) to take pictures that make you swoon, but we're not there yet.
If you're reading, thanks for taking the time. I hope you enjoy hearing about my exploits in the kitchen. I hope you try some of the recipes. I hope you love them like I do.
